Early Life
Abby Dahlkemper was born to Andrew Dahlkemper and Susan Dahlkemper on May 13, 1993, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States. Dahlkemper was raised in with her two brothers Andrew (the oldest) and Joseph (the youngest), by her parents Andrew Dahlkemper and Susan Dahlkemper, in Menlo Park, California. She was into football from her very young age. She attended Sacred Heart Preparatory, where she became a member of the team.
Football career
Dahlkemper started her youth football career from 2005 by joining MVAL Avalanche. She played for five years in MVAL Avalanche. In 2008 she attended Sacred Heart Preparatory and entered the Sacred Heart Preparatory soccer team and played for three years from 2008- 2011. She was named Gatorade California Girls Soccer Player of the Year and a Parade All-American in 2010. In 2011, she joined UCLA Bruins is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of the University of California at Los Angeles. She played in 93 games and scored five goals. Bruins won their first-ever NCAA National Championship with the help of Dahlkemper. Abby Dahlkemper was awarded the Honda Sports Award. She played at UCLA Bruins from 2011-2014.
Club Career
Dahlkemper club career started when she signed with the Pali Blues for the 2013 season of W-League. In July 2013, Pali Blues won the western conference title and the national championship. In 2014 she joined LA Blues and played for a year.
Western New York Flash selected Abby Dahlkemper in the 2015 NWSL College Draft as the third overall pick. She also signed with Western New York Flash in March 2015, and she played two years in the Western New York Flash. She played in 42 games and scored two goals. In 2016 she and her team won the NWSL Championship. In October 2015,2015–16 season, Dahlkemper was transferred to Adelaide United in the Australian W-League.
Dahlkemper joined the North Carolina Courage and played in 64 games and scored one goal. She is still playing for North Carolina Courage. North Carolina Courage won the 2017 season of NWSL Shield, where Dahlkemper played for all the game season. Dahlkemper became the 2017 NWSL Best XI. Dahlkemper was voted NWSL Defender of the Year for the 2017 Season. In the 2018 season, she played 19 games and was one of the North Carolina Courage’s key players. In 2018, she was the 2018 NWSL Best XI and was a finalist for Defender of the year. North Carolina Courage won the 2018 NWSL Championship.

International career
Dahlkemper started her international career when she was called for United States u-17 training camp in 2008. She represented the United States under-17 women’s national soccer team from 2008 to 2010. She was again called for the United States u-20 training camp and upgraded to United States u-20. In 2013 she upgraded to the United States under-23 women’s national soccer team. She helped the under-23 women’s national soccer team to win the four national tournaments. Abby Dahlekemper was the call for the national team in October 2016. She debuts in United States Women’s national team in October -19 in the friendly games against Switzerland. In 2016 end she was infected with sepsis, which is a life-threatening condition. After her recovery from sepsis, she joined the national team. In 2018 Dahlkemper and her team won the SheBelieves Cup and the Tournament of Nations with the U.S. WNT.
In 2019 Dahlkemper made her debut in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. She played all the games in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Abby and the United States Women’s national team won the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup by defeated the Netherlands 2–0 in the final. She played a total of 61 games from the national team till now.
