Club
Lina first started her football career at the age of 15. In 2011, she made her first club appearance in Norrettan with Gustafs GoIF for the 2011 season. In the next 20 games, Hurtig scored 14 goals and made four assists. After the end of her campaign at the club, Damallsvenskan clubs LdB FC Malmö and Umeå IK approached her to join the club. She later joined Umeå IK after a short training spell.
During the Umeå’s relegation in the 2016 season, Lina got transferred to the league champions Linköpings FC. She made a two-year contract with the club. While playing for the club, she made 54 league appearances and scored 17 league goals. After three years, Hurtig joined Juventus on 31st August 2020. She hasn’t played any league games for Juventus since then. Hurtig chose to play with Jersey number 17 for the club.
International
On the international platform, Hurting played her first match as a Swedish Under-19 International in the 2012 U-19 European Championship. Her team started a victorious beginning, and in the finals, the Swedish team made a spectacular win over Spain with 1-0 extra time wins.
In December 2012, Lina got admitted to a senior squad training group when Swedish national team coach Pia Sundhage called her up. Hurtig played the 1-1 friendly draw with Brazil on 19th June 2013, from her senior squad. She hoped to be selected for making the hosts’ final squad for UEFA Women’s Euro 2013, but unfortunately, she didn’t get picked.
Swedish national football team coach Sundhage described her as a potential world-class player after leaving Hurtig out of the final pre-tournament friendly against Norway in May 2013. Hurtig achieved her first senior cap as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Canada in November 2014. The coach of the national team put her in the Swedish squad that traveled to France to play in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Lina scored her first goal in a tournament with a 5-1 victory over Thailand.
